Mathematics for Decision Making I

Management

Learning objective
The aim of this course is introducing mathematical concepts and techniques and learning how to apply these techniques in management and economics. Corses take place in the first semester. The content can be divided into three parts:
  • Part one: basic operations on polynomials - factoring polynomials - linear equations and inequalities in one variable - systems of linear equations - quadratic equations in one unknown - applications.
  • Part two deals with elementary functions of one variable: linear functions - quadratic functions - exponential functions -logarithmic functions.
  • Part three deals with functions of one variable: domain - limits - asymptotes - derivatives- tangent lines - applications in business and economics.
